The bus will pick you up in Flåm, and start driving in the direction of Aurland, the largest of the villages in the area and the heart of the municipality. From Aurland the real adventure begins with a drive up several hairpin bends, until we reach the stunning Stegastein viewpoint, located at an altitude of 650 meters above sea level (2132 feet). Here you can soak in the unique atmosphere and take several photos of the breathtaking views of Aurlandsfjord.
After visiting the viewpoint, the excursion will take you all the way back to Flåm and continue in the direction of the Stalheim hotel, driving through the impressive 11.4-kilometer-long Gudvangatunnelen. Following the road towards Stalheim is an experience in itself. It allows you to enjoy the fjord nature at its best - steep mountains, waterfalls and lush forests. The historic hotel initially served the postal route between Oslo and Bergen. Despite a tragic fire in 1959, the Stalheim hotel now offers 220 beds and has become one of the largest hotels in the area. Above all, it offers breathtaking views of the valley below. Following our stop at the hotel, we'll make our way back down to the fjords shore, where we’ll visit Gudvangen, a picturesque village which will allow you to view the fjord from another perspective. After our last photo stop at Gudvangen, the bus will head back to the pier of Flåm.
